Humble Brag thinks responsible packaging and product stewardship is very important. Our coffee beans are shipped in bags that comply with kerbside recycling programs across Australia. Users can recycle their coffee bags, shipping boxes, packaging, and void fill along with their usual paper and cardboard recycling streams. Our packaging complies with APCO and ARL requirements for materials standards and recyclability.

Humble Brag acknowledges that coffee pods/capsules have a negative public perception around waste and resource use. We’ve chosen to produce aluminium pods as these are the most widely recyclable materials for pods, and there are a growing number of programs and councils across Australia introducing recycling programs. When purchased from us, we provide a postage-paid recycling satchel free of charge. Users can put their used pods in the satchel, seal it, and drop it into any Australia Post postbox to send their pods to be recycled. For business clients, we partner with ReSmart to provide recycling options for coffee pods and hundreds of other ‘tricky’ to recycle items. We are doing coffee pods, but better.

We use recyclable mailing boxes with minimal printing inks and only use paper/recyclable padding inside the boxes.

- How do I store my coffee?

To maintain the best possible quality, we recommend transferring your coffee immediately to a reusable, airtight container and keeping it in a cool, dark location. We don’t recommend storing it in the fridge as this can impart other flavours or smells into your coffee. Many people get great results from freezing their coffee; make sure you remove as much air from the container as you can. Our bags are intended to protect the coffee on its way to you. In maintaining recyclability of the packaging, the materials lose some long-term storage suitability. We recommend immediate transfer, or only using the paper bags for up to six weeks.
